Space availability: AEM technique always need large space available to be carried out and this should be taken into consideration during data collection and also for the choice of a fixed wing with respect to a HTEM: fixed‐wing systems always need flight strips to take off and land, whereas this does not apply for helicopters that are more flexible under this point of view and enlarge their field of applicability with respect to the first one.

Field crew: to carry out a survey it is required one to two helicopter operators and one to two land operators on site. Shift may be taken into consideration and no night shift are generally allowed. Under “ordinary” conditions (average) up to 300 linear kilometers of AEM can be collected in one working day.

General field conditions: in deploying the AEM set up on site, the crew should always remember the possible interaction including act of vandalism towards stored instrumentation, weather conditions and any other occurrence that may reduce safety of the operators during the acquisition and the integrity of the instrumentation. These lead to the needs for a level of organization prior and during the campaign.
